Blanket Scarf, Stripes & Vest OOTD

Well the long weekend is over and it's back to school tomorrow which I am not looking forward to as I have a lot of projects to work on. However it's one of my favorite times of the year (the holidays) aside from the summer. Plus tomorrow is December 1st which already starts the count down to Christmas. While school might not be the best there is always things to look forward to during the week and on the weekend.

I had a great long weekend shopping, going to a friends house, having lunch at a bakery, watching a movie, making holidays deserts and more! We still have holiday decorations to put up tomorrow (If we find time) because I am still not in the complete holiday spirit and it makes me sad. My sister watched the movie Blended last night but I was at a party and did not see it. She said it was really good so I need to see it now. Let me know what you thought of it if you saw it.

Finally this week I am going to be doing a whole series of gift guides for the holiday season so make sure you keep checking back each day to see the gift guides as I am super excited for them ;)

Ok so...
   1. Disregard my eye that looks half closed
2. Disregard the hair tie I left on my wrist

Happy Thanksgiving & Black Friday

Ok so this was suppose to go up yesterday but I feel asleep while typing this.... to much shopping

Hi y'all! I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving filled with family and food. My Thanksgiving was very chill hanging out at home.  I still wanted to look nice even though we didn't go anywhere. So I took some outfits pics yesterday but was just too tired to post anything after staying up to watch a movie. So I am showing you what I wore and some pictures from the holidays. My family normally puts Christmas decorations up on Thanksgiving but we didn't so I think we are going to try to do it tomorrow. Do you have your decor up yet?

Casual Thanksgiving Idea

So I had this whole plan to do this big blog post about different Thanksgiving outfit ideas for different  occasions. But then time got in the way with being back to school after a grand total of FOUR snow days last week. So instead of posting nothing I decided this outfit I took pictures of last week would be a perfect casual Thanksgiving idea. The sweater is nice and big which is super comfy and great for eating lots ;) Though the Tom's wedges give it a bit of a fancier look. You could even wear this look with riding boots though. I will try my best to put some more outfit ideas up tomorrow but I can't promise anything. I hope everyone is excited for the holidays, food, shopping, a day off with family. BTW if I look like I am in pain in a few of these pictures well it's because I am. I took these pictures last week when it was in the single digits and of coarse a coat just did not go. So I sucked it up and took the pictures with no coat (#fashionbloggerprobs)

Gift Guide 2014: My Christmas List

So I am going to make this quick because I feel like all I have been doing this weekend is baking for a bake sale so I am SUPER tired. Though I wanted to get this post up to kick of my series of gift guides I will be doing. For the first one I am showing you what is on my Christmas list. There will be a bunch more gift guides for all different things so definitely stay tuned for those as I think they will be awesome. I am sharing with you what I put on my list to help with giving gifts or to help you with ideas on what to ask for. Every year I always make a list for my close family and I love doing it. This year I put a lot of clothing times on my list mostly casual, because I don't have a ton a basic t-shirts. I love looking back at my list from years ago to see what funny things I was asking for back then. I do love shopping after Christmas but there is just something about getting a gift wrapped up whether it be on my list or not. What's on your list this year?

Hot Pink & Animal Print

Well it's still freezing cold her with another snow day tomorrow which will be a total of 4 this week. So I wanted to share an outfit with you I wore last week when it was warmer outside. The look came to me after seeing a look with hot pink and animal print together on Southern Curls & Pearls Instagram who I adore. I was also just thinking that you could totally pair this look with riding boots in the winter when it's cold out. I love the look of wearing t-shirt dresses in the winter with boots. I have to say I felt very productive today. It's amazing how many things I can get done when I have no school or any where to be. I finished my Christmas list which should be up tomorrow. I even started making Christmas cards for a fun DIY project I will be posting on the blog sometime in the next few weeks. I feel so on top of it this holiday season ;) Have a great Friday and talk SOON

Winter Layering

Well today was day two of having no school from snow days and I just found out that we have another one tomorrow!!! So I have been able to get a ton of stuff done including a bunch of blog pictures. Ok well maybe not that much stuff lets be honest I have been pretty lazy but that's ok.  It does not look like there is that much snow but other areas around us can't even drive (#crazy). So today I decided to post an outfit that I thought was very fitting because it involves many layers and white pants (like the snow). I love everything about this look and will definitely being wearing it a lot. I am also LOVING my hair which I (well my sister) curled today because you know I have so much time on my hands. Ok enough bragging for all of you who have school/work it's almost Friday hang in there. I am SUPER excited for the holidays on my blog as it will be my "blogs" first Christmas. Today I spent time planning out gift guides, recipes, OTTD's and more;) I can't wait to share them! See y'all tomorrow!!

Best Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins/Bread Ever

Our close family friend is a major cook and she makes some amazing food. She is always making the BEST banana chocolate chip muffins and I am not even a crazy fan of banana. So a few months ago I got the recipe from her and having been making these when ever I have ripe bananas. I hope you love the recipe as much as I do and please commit if you make them ;) Enjoy

Ingredients :

* 3 very ripe/mushy bananas
* 2 sticks of butter
* 1 1/2 cups of cups of sugar
* 2 eggs
* 1 teaspoon of baking soda
* 1 tablespoon of vinegar
* 3 tablespoons of milk
* 2 cups of flour
* 1 cup (can me more/less) chocolate chips

Steps:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Cream together bananas, butter and sugar in a mixer
3. Add in eggs, baking soda, vinegar and milk to the banana mixture from step 2 until combined
4. Fold in the flour until just combined but don't over mix
5. Add in the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips or dried Craisins
6. Bake it the oven for: 1 1/2 hours for a loaf pan or 20-25 minutes for muffins

So this recipe is SUPER easy and I hope you like it. BTW I feel like I have not posted any OOTD in a long time because of the lighting outside. However I had a snow day today and got some pictures taken so I should be posting a bunch of OOTD starting tomorrow.

College Prepping: Scholarships

Hi everybody I feel like I have not blogged in FOREVER. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend I was away for a youth conference so I could not blog. It's suppose to snow a lot tonight so I am wishfully hoping we might have a snow day tomorrow however I don't think it's to likely. I could really use a day off though to get some stuff done!!! Speaking of snow I am slowly getting into my favorite time of year (aside from the summer) the holidays. I love the decorations, parties, getting dressed up, making a Christmas list, baking endless goodies and spending time with family. I have been working on a Christmas list which I can't wait to share on the blog with a bunch of super fun posts I have planned.

Anyways in last weeks post I mentioned about a post that I was a bit different from my usual. Well after a week I am finally here to share it. I am going to warn you it's not super exciting however I hope you find in helpful. Ok so applying to college is one of the hardest and most challenging tasks I have had a face so far. While I am done with applying to schools I have been still working on research and scholarships. So today I am going to share with you some tips for tackling the task of applying for scholarships. Now I am know expert and have not done to much but I feel I have a ton of valuable tips. I also plan to do more college tip related posts sometime. Anyways lets get to this post...

1. Get everything else done first- What I mean by this that get everything else done first before starting to apply for scholarships. Applying to college is the first step so do this first before you focus on scholarships.

2. Start small and then go bigger- Try to start by first looking for local scholarships then state and finally national. You don't want to apply for just national scholarships because you have a WAY better change of getting local ones. They might be a smaller dollar amount but you could get more of them.

3. Look of scholarships specific to your major (ex: Hospitality scholarships)

4. Think out of the box- Look for scholarships your patent's work might offer or if your parents belong to a union. Also if you belong to a credit union look into that as well.  Even memberships to sustain organizations. I know even my daycare I went to as a kid has a scholarship I am going to apply for.

5. Always follow all directions on the application and submitted it ON TIME

6. Apply for am many as possible because you will be more likely to get them.

7. Use your school as a resource to help you. If they are not that great at helping you then create a Fast Web that will link you to scholarships that apply to you.

8. If you have the time try to do a minimum of 10 hours/week working on scholarships.

9. Stay organized- I create a spread sheet with different categories to helper organize what scholarships I want to apply for and when they are due. You can organize your spread sheet however you would like but this is how I did it...

Wow that was a long post but I really hope this helped you and you learned something. Please feel free to leave comets about questions you have, more suggestions and whether I should do more of these types of posts.

New Boots & the First Snow

I have been wanting a new pair of riding boots in a dark brown color but I did not want to spend a lot of money. So after searching the Internet I finally found the perfect pair at Macy's. I have had my eye on them for a little bit now and over the weekend they went on MEGA sale. I am not kidding when I am saying they were $41. They are back to there original price now but they are on BOGO right now. Anyways so the boots arrived today just in time because today was the first snow ;) Lets just say I am in LOVE with them. I decided to go with the extended calf size so I could more easily wear them with knee socks and I could not be more happy. So if you are looking for some inexpensive nice looking boots check these out. I might even have to get the black/brown combo pair.

 PS: Sorry about the picture quality because I normally don't like posting anything that is bad quality but I really wanted to blog today but it was dark at 5 (#depressing).
