Pink Poncho

Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope your week is going good and you are getting into the Halloween spirit. I still am not sure what I am going to dress up as, Suggestions? Today's outfit when looking at the title might seem dated. I mean who really wears poncho's anymore. I can't even tell you the last time I wore a poncho. However sweater poncho's seem to be in this year. So yesterday I decided to drag this poncho out of my closet and wear it. I think the look turned out pretty good it's not 100% amazing but it works.

Tartan Hat OOTD

It feels like FOREVER since I last did a blog post. These past few weeks have been crazy and I have not had much extra time to blog. Plus this time of year is a bear for taking pictures after school. During the summer and in September I would have my sister take my pictures later at night and it would still be light out. However now because it gets dark out so quickly I am finding it harder and harder to find time to take pictures. I also have come to realize that I believe quality is better then quantity. It's better to have a few posts a week with really good quality photos then a post everyday with ok quality photos. This has been hard for me to stick to much I just want to get stuff posted ASAP but often times it's better if I wait. When I look back at some of my very first blog posts I cringe at how BAD the photos were (what was I thinking).

Today's OOTD is what I wore on my day trip to Providence, RH to visit a school. I am in love with tartan with year and my favorite color combo with fall seems to be army green with navy so lets just say this outfit is perfect. I LOVE this hat I bought last week on Country Club Prep even more then I thought I would. This outfit I wore on the college visit was perfect because the blazer gives it a more sophisticated look while the hat gives it a more casual look. I think this outfit is just prefect ;)

Striped Sweater & Knee High Boots

Hey y'all I hope everyone's week is going great. Mine had been super busy as always but it also is kind of slow (It feels like today should be Friday). Anyways I am looking forward to the weekend because I am going on a quick road trip to Providence to visit a school. I have never been there so I am a little excited to check out the school and town. Lately I have been crazy busy with college applications, jobs, an internship, and school work so my number one priority right now is comfort. Today's outfit is SUPER comfy and I have already worn it twice. I love this outfit because the boots give it a more "dressier" look ;)

Recipe: Pumpkin Bars

Yesterday was recipe Sunday but I had a HUGE project due today and could not bring myself to post the recipe late last night so I am bringing you the recipe today. I have some great OOTD's coming up so stay tuned for that. This family recipe for pumpkin bars is literally the definition of fall in a dessert. These bars are so moist, sweet and AMAZING. I made these Sunday for a church bake sale and they were very popular. I want everyone to make these this fall because I think you will love them as much as I do, Enjoy ;)

Ingredients (cake):

4 eggs
1 2/3 cups of sugar
1 cup of cooking oil (You could substitute oil for apple sauce to make it healthier)
1 16 ounce can of pumpkin
2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking soda

Ingredients (frosting):

8 ounces of softened cream cheese
1 stick of softened butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 1/2 cups of confectioners sugar

Step 1: Beat eggs, sugar, oil and pumpkin in a bowl until light and fluffy.

Step 2: Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and baking soda to the pumpkin mixture and mix until combined.

Step 3: Spread batter into a cookie sheet with a lip on it or in a jell roll pan. Do NOT grease the pan.

Step 4: Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Once done let the bars cool before frosting.

Step 5: Combine cream cheese and butter and mix until creamy.

Step 6: Add the vanilla.

Step 7: Slowly added the confectioners sugar.

Step 8: Frost the bars and eat them!!!!

You can add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for an added touch

Variations

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. While the weather was crap today I went to the movies with a friend and saw The Best of Me. The movie was WAY better then I even expected. I knew it was going to be good but not that good. I loved it because it was not your typical romance movie. While it was sad it also gave you that great love felling. There was different turns around every corner which kept it exciting. The movie was based on the Nicholas Sparks book. While I love romance movies and books I have never read any of his book which I can't believe so my goal for the rest of the year is to read his books.

Today's outfit is pretty basic and I have worn all these things on the blog before but not together. The other day on Kelly In the City blog she said "If I'm being honest here, most of my outfits are really just variations of those I've posted before" and I could not agree more. Being a blogger does not mean I have new clothes to wear everyday and part of style is parring the same things with a bunch of different things. I try to come up with as many different looks to wear and to post on my blog but most of the time the pieces have already appeared multiple times on the blog. Now I am not saying that I wish I could wear something new everyday I am just saying that wearing the same pieces with different things is fine. In fact it's fun to see how many outfits you can come up with using one article of clothing.

The Black Dog OOTD

This week has been CRAZY and so I have had no time to take pictures or blog. Normally my sister takes my blog pictures but our schedules after school leave no time for taking pictures before it gets dark out. I guess I might have to start taking pictures on the weekend for the week. Also my iPhoto on my computer has been acting kind of funny which has made it even harder to get pictures.

Anyways I wanted to get an OOTD up today so I decided to show you an OOTD from a while ago. I got this Black Dog sweatshirt for my birthday and I LOVE it. This sweatshirt is literally the most comfy thing going and the best part is you can wear it with leggings (did that this week). I have never been to the Black Dog Tavern in Maine, but I would love to travel to Maine sometime. I am planning on taking a bunch of pictures tomorrow so I will have outfits to show you guys. I was going to post my outfit from today  but the pictures were taken on my phone and I am too much of a perfectionist to post them. I always keep my blog real but I can't bring myself to upload really bad photos after looking back on what I have posted in the past. At least it's almost the weekend which I desperately need right now (cheering)  ;)

Fall Walk OOTD

I hope everyone had a fun three day weekend!!! Mine was pretty busy but it was fun (other then taking the SAT's) . This weekend was my dad's birthday so we went out to dinner on Saturday. Then Sunday we had the perfect fall day. We went for brunch at a local crepe place. Then we went to a apple cider mill and went for a nice walk. The weather and day was perfect. So I decided to break out my new Forever 21 sweater I bought a few weeks ago when they had there free shipping sale. I love this sweater because it's warm, not itchy and it look expense even though it was only $20 dollars. I hate shopping at Forever 21 stores but you can find some great pieces there. Though the problem is you really have to look which can be time consuming. So I was excited when they had free shipping because I did not have to go to the store then ;) Do you like shopping at Forever 21?
