My Day Off

This week I decided to plan out my day off in order to make the most of it! When I only have about one day off a week my goal is to make the most of each one I have to make summer feel more like summer! I really enjoyed my day off and so I thought I would share with you what I ended up doing to maybe give you some idea of your own.

Going Out For Brunch // This is something that I really enjoy doing every once in a while because it feels like a treat! It's nice to be able to sleep in and then go out for a relaxing brunch. I started my day off going to a brunch restaurant around 11ish after sleeping in!

Year Of Fun: May 2017

I figured it was better late than never even though this is a bit late getting to you! I would say that May seemed to fly by really quickly and I can't believe it's already June 7th. May was a really fun month for me. The first week was not to exciting as I spent my time studying and taking all my finals. Though once I was done with school I enjoyed my time off with family in preparation for my move to South Carolina. Even though I am working I still am having lots of fun during my free time and it still feels like summer!

1. Brunch With Family // We tried a new restaurant for brunch on my mom's birthday and it was so good. I had eggs benedict which I normally never order but it was amazing. We also order a bread tray that came with homemade jam and these popovers which were amazing too. My mom's birthday celebration was a really nice day.

Life Update & Current Favorites

Guys I am back and am going to try and make an effort to post a few blog posts a week. I officially started my first day of work yesterday and so I now have a set scheduled which should help me figure out when I can spend a few hours to write a few posts each week. Before this week we had training and had a pretty random schedule so I found it hard to find the time to work on blogging. Plus when I am not working I am trying to spend time making the most of the summer. I have already been to the beach and pool many times. I also visited Savannah for a short trip over the weekend! So far I am really enjoying my time here in South Carolina. I am really liking the job, weather, and most of all I am having fun! My plan is to spend a few hours one day a week hopefully writing about four posts for the week if all goes well but hang tight until I get into a schedule! I thought I would share some of my current favorites with you to get back into a posting routine.

Weekend Plans: Happy Memorial Day weekend to everyone. I hope you have fun spending time outside with family to celebrate the start of summer. I will be working this weekend but at least I can enjoy some warm weather.

Scallops & Gingham

Long time no post but I have been very busy settling in to my internship in South Carolina but I am back today to share a super quick blog post. This is going to be the world's shortest post because I am super tired but I wanted to share this outfit with you of what I wore for the first day of work (will catch you up on everything in another post)! Sorry things have been a bit lacking but I haven't found a schedule of when to write posts. I am so busy all day that when bedtime hits I fall right asleep which is when I normally do my posts! Talk soon :)

Happy Mothers Day

FYI: This post is in collaboration with Dia & Co! They are the perfect place to find super stylish clothes for plus size women. All you have to do is fill out a quick style survey and they will send you a box of hand picked clothes just for you to try on right in the comfort of your own home (more info here)!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mom reading this! I wanted to write this post to simply thank my mom and all the other ladies out there for everything you do. Growing up my mom and I were close but we definitely had our differences and I wouldn't say we were super close. I remember there were times were we would disagree over something and I would be so mad at her. It was never over anything major and I would quickly get over it. In fact I can't even think of a specific time now. That all changed once I began to get closer to graduating from high school. Before I went off to college my mom and I along with my best friend and her mom took a trip to Martha's Vineyard. It was just the four of us and we had the BEST time. It was one of the best trips I have even been on. We got to explore a new place all while laughing about the stupidest things. I think every mother/daughter or even mother/son duo should take a trip together the summer before college! It was a time I will cherish forever.

Once I went away for college I would say I grew even closer to my mom. I started to call or text her pretty much everyday and we would update each other on life. My mom has become my best friend. I love spending time shopping, eating, or just hanging out. She always knows the best advise to give and I don't know a better person to turn to when I need style advise, to gossip, or really anything! They always say that your mom shouldn't be your best friend which I think is true when you are growing up however now that I am older I think a mother/daughter relationship is the best friendship their is! My mom and I also have very similar personalities which make things even more interesting. We are both super hard working, we love a challenge, and we always try to be upbeat just to name a few.
Happy Mother's day mom sorry I couldn't be their to celebrate with you ;)

A Late Friday Favorites

Weekend Plans: This weekend is going to be pretty much be spent all day in the car! Yesterday I spent the day finishing packing up all my stuff to leave for the summer. I got my nails done with my mom and sister and then we went out for one last dinner as a family. Today I left for South Carolina with my dad. We drove a little over half way today and we will be getting their tomorrow and unpacking all my stuff before I start my internship this week! Just so you know my posts might be a bit lacking this week until I get settled and figure out a bit of a posting routine ;)

My Everyday Makeup Routine

It's been a while since I posted about my makeup routine and my products I use have changed a lot. I use more high-end products more because I think sometimes it's worth it to spend a little more money on products. I started really using Tarte within the past year and I love all of their products. They are pretty much all natural and cruelty free. I go for a very natural makeup look and Tarte helps me achieve that look! I decided to film a video for this post so you can see how I apply everything. I pretty much wear some form of this routine everyday give or take a few products. If I am getting more dressed up I might add a few more steps but this is pretty much what I do everyday! Hope you enjoy this video ;)

Sophomore Year Of College In Review

As promised I back today to share a review of my sophomore year of college in picture form! Sorry this didn't get up sooner but my weekend turned into organizing and packing all my crap and my room is still a disaster (It's a work in progress). When I was going through my pictures I realized a lot of these pictures I have already shared on the blog here and their in various blog posts but I thought it would still be fun to share them in one place. I also tried to include some different pictures you have never seen. So here is parts of my sophomore year...

My Thoughts On My Sophomore Year Of College

At the end of freshman year I shared some pictures about some of the things I did throughout the year and I wanted to do that same post this year. I also wanted to share my thoughts on the year so I decide to split the posts into two separate posts so it's not so long. So today I am simply sharing my thoughts about my second year of college and tomorrow I will be back to share some more about what I did throughout the year!

Mother's Day Gift Guide 2017

With Mother's Day right around the corner I wanted to share with you some products that I think would make for awesome gifts! I tried to include things from all different price ranges. I also included some things my mom owns and loves which might help with your decision (including this rain jacket, these sneakers and this cosmetic case). Mother's Day is May 14th so with less than two weeks away make sure you order your gifts soon. I think Nordstrom is a great place to order from because they have really fast and free shipping. I am sad I won't be around to celebrate the special day with my mom this year but if you are in the same boat I think a special little package could do the trick ;)

Year Of Fun: April 2017

Another month has past which means it is time to share another edition in the year of fun for April. I have to say April kept me SO busy that it didn't leave much time to do additional fun things aside from what I already had planned. April was the last full month of school which left me very busy. I also pretty much had a sorority event every week in April. Add on my job at the mall and I had a full plate. I still managed to make the most of the month and find time to do fun things when I had some free time. I honestly can't believe it is already May today. The months seem to be flying by but I love checking in each month. It really helps me stay positive and enjoy each day more. I think it might be fun to look back on my new years resolutions post and see what else I could improve on in the coming months. As for the next few months while I am away for the summer I plan to enjoy everyday I have off. My experiences last summer really inspired this series so I know what to do differently this summer. I know I have to take the time to enjoy my summer every chance I get! More to come on my big move to South Carolina...

1. Trip To Vermont // I won't talk about this too much because I did a whole blog post here on our Easter trip to Manchester. It was so nice to take a mini vacation and enjoy a new town. We ate lots, shopped even more, enjoyed each others company, and had tons of fun!

Friday Favs

These flowers are so pretty my parents got me last week for an honors society induction!
Weekend Plans: I don't think I have ever needed a weekend more than this one! This week was rough I had a ton of assignment do this week which made for some very late nights (3pm is to late). Today is my last day at Ralph Lauren for the summer because I already leave for South Carolina in two weeks! Saturday my dad is visiting for a parent's day my sorority is having (my mom/sister were busy) which should be fun. Then I am heading home with him after to celebrate my mom's birthday for the rest of the weekend. We have some fun things planned that I am not going to share until after in case my mom is reading this ;)

Easter Clothing Haul ( J Crew Factory & Vineyard Vines)

Well I was half on top of things because I pre-uploaded this video so it would go up on Sunday when videos are suppose to go up even though I have completely failed at doing that. So the video did go up Sunday but I have not had any time to write the blog post for it but hey at least I tried to be on top of things! On that note make sure to subscribe to my channel so you know when I post videos.

For today's video I filmed a clothing haul of what I bought while we went to Vermont for Easter. I bought way to much stuff and had a ton of fun filming this video for you guys so I hope you enjoy!

Friday Favorites In A New Form

Cheers to the weekend finally!! I had a really stressful week just trying to get school work done as I only have a week left of classes and then five finals. I decided not to do any work over Easter break and while I had an amazing break it hit me hard this week. I know it will all work out I just have a to-do list a mile long. For today's blog post I thought I would mix it up and share my Friday favorites in a different format. I have to admit that is a complete copy from Covering The Bases post but I really  love the way she has it organized. I normally do this post with pictures but I am kind of loving this list format. Plus it's easy for me. I don't know what do you think?

PS: How freaking cute is this picture of my sister and I on Easter 🌷

Weekend Plans: I have another busy weekend with sorority and work. My sorority is helping with Special Olympics and we also have our senior day celebration. It's also nearing the end of the semester and I have SO MUCH work to get done in the next week.

Lots & Lots Of Gingham

Other than striped gingham is one of my favorite patterns. It just reminds me of a summer tablecloth and I love it! My favorite gingham combo is of course navy and white. Gingham seems to be really popular this season so I thought I would round up some of my favorite gingham pieces. Let me know if you have found any super cute gingham pieces I should check out!!

Manchester Vermont Travel Log: Where To Stay, Where To Eat & What To Do

I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter Sunday! I spend the weekend in Vermont and the weather the whole weekend was so nice. It looked like it was going to rain a ton but the rain ended up holding off and it was a perfect weekend. We decided to spend a few nights in Manchester because we had visited for a day last year but didn't spent as much time as we would have liked to. So we went back and explored more of the town. I love the peaceful feel the small town has but their is plenty to see and do as well. I thought I would share my travel recommendations with you in case you ever happened to travel here. I completely failed at taking pictures this weekend so I really don't have any but I am going to still talk in depth about our mini trip!

My ShopBop Sale Picks

I am officially home for Easter break!! With finals only a few weeks away I have lots of work to get done but I am going to try and spend most of the weekend relaxing away from work. Today was the start of the ShopBop sale that happens only a few times a year. ShopBop is a bit pricey for me however with their sale going on right now you can get some amazing deals on designer pieces! Personally I think their shoe department is where it's at!! They have my favorite Hunter rain boots on sale as well as the Salvatore Ferragamo flats I have been lusting over. Those would be my top pick if I had the money I would be getting those right away. While I don't plan on buying anything this time around on this sale I thought I would give y'all a heads up in case you were interested in some of their items! The code to use at checkout is EVENT17 and you get 20% off orders under $500 and 25% off orders over $500!

Current Favorites

Since it has almost been I week since I last posted anything I thought I would start the week off by sharing with you some of my favorites I have been loving the past few weeks. I have just been extra busy between school work, sorority, and work that I have hardly had any extra time for blogging but I have a few days off this week for Easter so I am hoping to catch up on posts. I can't wait for a mini break only two more days of school!

Since I have not posted a favorites in almost a month this is just a random mix of things I have been loving the past month or so! I hope you enjoy and are having a great Monday. The weather is FINALLY feeling like spring which makes me so happy.

Southern Charm // I have definitely included this in other posts but this is my favorite reality TV show mostly because it takes place in Charleston. It started this past week and I can already tell it is going to be a good season!

Easter Inspiration

Easter always makes me want to wear a pretty pastel colored dress even though most time it's still pretty cold on Easter. With Easter right around the corner already I thought I would share some of may favorite dresses and skirts for the holiday this year! These dresses make for the perfect church & brunch attire. I am really excited for Easter this year because we are taking a little trip and I am 100%  on break because I also took off of work! I am super excited to spend a few days away from school. I would love to know what you are planning on wearing for Easter this year?!

Year Of Fun: March 2017

I am excited to share with you the fun things that I planned for the month of March. I had some fun things planned for the beginning for the month but after I got back from spring break things were a bit blah. When I started this year of fun challenge I knew that some months would be more exciting than others, but I realized this month that if I am going to make these fun things happen I have to plan them ahead of time. I don't mean big trips but even little things like going out to dinner. All these things take time and with such a busy schedule unless I think about things I want to do ahead of time then I get into the same routine. I am excited to see what things I do in April but my goal is to plan them out ahead of time!

1. New Hair Color // When I was home for break I went to the hair salon and decided to lighten the color and get blond highlights! I love the way it turned out and it got my ready for the warmer months. Their is just something about a change in your hair that feels so refreshing.

What I Eat In A Day

Long time no video! I filmed this over break and thought I would share with you what I eat in a day.  The day I filmed this my eating schedule was a bit off and it wasn't my healthiest day in the books but I still thought I would share it with you. I was also home over break so obviously a college version of this would look a lot different. I had a ton of fun filming this video and would love to do more of this type of video in the future. Especially this summer when I will be cooking my own meals. Let me know what you think?

Swim Inspiration 2017

Well my wish came true we ended up having a snow day today and we just got notified that school is canceled again tomorrow! Which means another day to sleep in (yah). My snow day today was very lazy and pretty unproductive (Netflix and bed) so maybe tomorrow I will get lots done. While it won't stop snowing outside I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite swim wear for this summer. I think it's clear that I am loving the floral swim trend this year. I am thinking about getting a new swim suit for the summer as I will in the South Carolina for the summer. I hope you enjoy this post and it helps you take your mind off the winter weather.

Current Favorites

I don't think I mentioned this before but I took a quick trip to Florida to soak up some sunshine and visit family! Me and my dad got in this afternoon and we leave Saturday so it's a very quick trip but it's still worth being in Florida for a few days before school and life resume again. It's been a little while since I last shared some of my favorites so I thought I would share some things I am loving and lusting over!

Snacks // These Vans Bars and The Good Bean Chickpeas are my go to snacks as of recently. I picked these granola bars up on a whim the other day at Wegmans and they are SO GOOD. They literally taste like a PBJ sandwich. The chickpeas are also surprisingly good considering I normally don't like chickpeas but they are really good in a crunchy form!

Six Healthy Breakfast Ideas

I hope you had a great weekend! I ended up taking the weekend off from blogging to enjoy my break away from school, work, and the blog. Friday I hit the gym in the morning and then I went to Wegman's to get some breakfast items. Then I had to work later on at night. Yesterday my mom, sister, and I got a pedicure at a spa and then went shopping! I didn't get a lot of things but I sure spent a lot. Let me know if you like me to show you what I picked up. I ended the weekend running a bunch of different errands with my mom today. I have to work the next few days so I am glad I spent the time and enjoyed the weekend.

I have been trying to eat healthier and I have been trying to come up with different recipes to try. Breakfast is one of those meals that I often have a hard time coming up with what to eat. Though I came up with a pretty solid list of six things I love for breakfast. I tried to think of things that were pretty simple to make as I need all the time I can get in the morning. I recently tried overnight oats and I really like them with some fruit on top. I also love making acai bowls with acai packets! I hope you find this list helpful and I would love to know what other options you love for breakfast.

Year Of Fun: February 2017

I have been waiting to share this post with you because I loved sharing with you what fun things I did in January for the first month of the "Year Of Fun". February seemed to go by really quick which might have to do with the fact that it is the shortest month. I had another really great month of time spent with friends and family doing some things that made everyday life more enjoyable. I already have some super exciting things planned for March which I can't wait to share with you as well! I would love to know what things you enjoyed doing this month.

1. Ice Skating // My dad's work rented an ice rink for the night so I met my family their after I was done at work and had some fun skating. I didn't end up skating too long between needing food because I was starving and trying to get skates that felt right on my feet. Though the little time I actually skated I had lots of fun. I had not been in a while!
