Easter Brunch Menu & Easter Vlog

In typical me fashion I waited until the last minute to do quite a bit of homework so this post is going up a day late! I hope everyone is recovering from their Easter festivities as I know I ate way to much food. Today I thought I would share with you what our family's Easter brunch menu consisted of with links to all the recipes! I also have a super quick but fun vlog sharing a look into what I did on Easter! I hope you enjoy today's posts as I have not done a recipe post in a really long time ;)

Where Have I Been / Life Update / Current Favorites

Hey y'all I don't really know where to even begin or how to start this post but I just wanted to sit down and have a heart to heart! If you don't care to read about my life then you can skip ahead to the part of the post where I am sharing with you some of my current favorites. For all of you who do want an update then keep reading!

As you can probably tell my posts have been lacking and the amount of times I post has decreased dramatically! I want you to know that you are not the only one that notices it and I am well aware of this fact. Though this is not something that is going to change tomorrow or even next week. To be honest I think it has taken me almost six months since I stated college to come to terms with the fact that I just don't have the time to devote hours each night to blog posts! When I say hours I truly mean hours it might take longer then you think to publish one simple post. I am in college now and so my schedule is much different then it was when I started Melchicmay in my junior year of high school. Now you might be thinking what is the big deal if you only post once a week? It is no big deal it just has taken me forever to be ok with this fact. I compare myself to other bloggers (i.e.: Kelly In The City & The College Prepster) and I notice that they post a blog post EVERY SINGLE DAY. Though the main difference between them and me is that I am going to school. You might not know this but a lot of people blog full time as their job (yes you read that right)! If you grow your website large enough you can make it a full time job. While that is not my intention I say this because the blogging "standard" of posting content everyday is just not realistic.

So the questions is where do we go from here? I can't promise an exact schedule, I don't spend a ton of time creating new outfits as much anymore & I sometimes just don't feel inspired to post. While I can't give you can exact answer to this question I do have one simple answer I still love blogging. I love being able to share with you guys what ever I want. It's like a person diary for me to look back on. So while I might not be posting everyday anymore not a single day goes by that I don't think about Melchicmay!

I am off for Easter break until Monday and I am going to really spend a lot of time thinking about where I want to take this blog in the future, blog post ideas, future projects, my goals & mission! So you can expect a follow up post in the next few days where I will be laying out a plan for what's to come! As for now make sure you follow along with me on Instagram (@melchicmay) as I have been trying to post more frequently. Before this post gets ANY long lets get into some of my current favorites.

I Said Yes By Emily Maynard: I really want to read this book by Emily as I have read lots of great reviews about it. I have been a fan of her ever since she was on the Bachelor years ago and I have been following her life every since. I really think that this would be a fun read!

6 Tips For Getting Out Of A "Funk"

I am changing it up for today's post and writing a lifestyle blog post! I came up with the idea for this post because often times I think it's easy to get into a "funk" or stuck in a "rut". I know for me last week was a really hard & crappy week with a lot going on. I am normally a pretty happy person but even the most positive people can have a bad day or even a week. This week went much better and so I wanted to share some tips I thought might help you guys for when you are just having one of those off times! I am thinking about doing more posts like this in the future if you guys like this. Also I have a short Easter break coming up so I am planning on getting caught up on blog posts & pictures (I know I have been slacking)! TGIF ;)

1. LISTEN TO UPBEAT MUSIC
I love listening to upbeat music when I am not in the best of moods. It always seems to help me. Some of my current favorite songs I have been loving are Brand New and Dance.

Current Favorites

Happy Monday I hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful on Saturday so I managed to get a hike in and I went out to dinner with my friends. It was a nice way to relax and restart the week fresh. On that note I am kicking this week off with some of my current favorites! PS: Happy Bachelor engagement day but sadly I didn't get to watch it yet ;(

If you have been reading my blog for a while now then you probably remember me talking about this reality tv show before as my guilty pleasure. Bravo announced that the show will be on for a third season in April which I am so excited about. Check out the trailer here!

Sunday Funday

Growing up Sunday's for me were anything but fun. This is because Sunday's for me meant doing hours and hours of homework that was due because I procrastinated it until the weekend. While I still do lots of homework in college on Sunday's I have tried to make the day more fun and not only focus on work. So today I am sharing with you what a perfect Sunday Funday would look like for me with tips to help make your Sunday's better. I don't do these things every week however this is what the perfect day would look like for me ;)

Sleep In: I think the weekends are the perfect time to sleep in and get caught up on sleep. I love sleeping in until about 10am. I have never been one to sleep in super late because then I just feel like you are wasting the day away! Speaking of sleeping in Casper the online mattress brand, are huge fans of sleeping in on a Sunday Funday! They recently asked me how my Sunday routine goes and of course sleep had to be number one on my list! I think getting a good rest in a comfy bed sets the week up for success.

SHOPBOP Sale

Until March 5th SHOPBOP is having a major sale that I wanted to let you know about! By entering the code BIGEVENT16 upon checking out you can save 15%, 20%, or 25% depending on how much you spend. I realized that this is not the best of sales however for high-end designer names this sale is an amazing way to save some money on those luxury goods that NEVER go on sale. I am not one to spend hundreds of dollars on clothes however I would be willing to spend a bit more money on a high-quality pair of shoes or a handbag. Basically everyday accessories that never go out of style. While I will not be purchasing anything with this sale I have rounded up my top seven items that I think would be perfect items to buy during this sale! I would love to know in the comments what your top picks are ;)

Southern Shirt Love

Today we spent the day at the beach relaxing in the sun, swimming in the ocean and taking a long walk on the beach. It was a picture perfect day! My go-to attire for the beach is a T-shirt and shorts. I am a total sucker for "southern graphic Ts". I think my obsession started when I discovered the brand Lauren James about two years ago in South Carolina. Ever since then my t-shirt obsession has grown. So for a fun post today I thought I would share with you some of my current favorite T-shirts I am loving. I am definitely looking to add a few more Lauren James shirts to my collection.  I mean come on how cute are their new designs for the summer?

PRO SHOPPING TIP: I order all my shirts from Country Club Prep because they offer free shipping and they almost always have a promo code!

San Diego Travel Log

As promised I am sharing with you some pictures from my trip to San Diego from last week. I don't have a ton of great pictures as I was taking just a few here and their on my iPhone. I also did not get to do alot of stuff in the city because I was their for a conference. So by the time the days were over it was hard to go see much. I also got sick right before coming home which was not fun either! Though the weather was amazing and I loved being able to experience a new part of the country.
