6 Tips For Getting Out Of A "Funk"

I am changing it up for today's post and writing a lifestyle blog post! I came up with the idea for this post because often times I think it's easy to get into a "funk" or stuck in a "rut". I know for me last week was a really hard & crappy week with a lot going on. I am normally a pretty happy person but even the most positive people can have a bad day or even a week. This week went much better and so I wanted to share some tips I thought might help you guys for when you are just having one of those off times! I am thinking about doing more posts like this in the future if you guys like this. Also I have a short Easter break coming up so I am planning on getting caught up on blog posts & pictures (I know I have been slacking)! TGIF ;)

1. LISTEN TO UPBEAT MUSIC
I love listening to upbeat music when I am not in the best of moods. It always seems to help me. Some of my current favorite songs I have been loving are Brand New and Dance.

2: GET OUTSIDE & WORKOUT
I think something that does not help us feel our best is when we just stay inside and don't do anything. The best thing to do is get outside and just go for a walk. If the weather is really crappy then I go to the gym to get a workout in. It helps me take my mind off of things and relive some stress.

3: DON'T LET OTHERS DRAG YOU DOWN

Often times I think that the people around us can make us get into a "funk" and while I know it can be hard to separate yourself from them sometimes it's best just to take some time away from them even if it's just for an hour or two. You can't let other peoples moods effect your happiness because it will just make you feel worse.

4: GET TOGETHER WITH CLOSE FRIENDS

I think one of the best things you can do is get together with close friends who know you the best. The people that will ALWAYS make you laugh no matter what & who understand you. I think laughing with friends is the best way to feel yourself again!

5: READ SOME INSPIRATION

I love reading inspirational quotes on Pinterest when I am feeling down. I also have an app on my phone Daily Quote that gives you a daily quote to read. You could also read bible versus or other religious materials for some inspiration.

Some of my Favorite Happiness Quotes:

" Being happy doesn't means everything's perfect. It means you have decided to look beyond the imperfections"

"Happiness is found when you stop comparing yourself to other people"

"The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have"

6: TREAT YOURSELF

This is a tip that should be used in moderation. When I say treat yourself I mean go for a manicure or go out and get an ice cream. Something little that can make you feel more upbeat. I don't mean go out and spend hundreds of dollars or anything crazy. Something little every once in a while is not a bad thing so enjoy it!
