Three Day In Martha's Vineyard

In case you were wondering where the heck I was this week on the blog well I was in Martha's Vineyard! I am officially back from the trip and I am SO sad it's over. Not only was it the end of one of the best trips ever but it was my last vacation of the summer ;( Keeping up with blogging while traveling is really hard. So I am going to share with you everything about the trip in this post! Warning their will be LOTS of pictures.

For this trip we left Tuesday and did not get in until late at night and we stayed until Friday night. I went with my mom, best friend and her mom as a senior year trip. I didn't know exactly what to expect on this vacation but it's up their as a top vacation if not my favorite. The island has this very calm way about it. While it's a busy island in August it's so relaxing and you can easily forget about normal life!

Tuesday:

We left Tuesday morning though we had a long layover in Boston before we actually arrived! Once we got their it was pouring rain and we ended the day by heading in town for dinner.

Boston

We had to run through the rain in order to get off the plane!
The bag drop was a door and the airport was SO small
We stayed at the Hostel in Martha's Vineyard. The room was very small though the price was perfect and we were really only their to sleep. The rooms were clean and it even included a breakfast! To get around we took the bus which was handy because their was a bus stop right outside the hostel.

We ended the night with a late dinner at the Seafood Shanty!

Wednesday:

It was my friends birthday and she wanted to kayak so we started the day by going on a 2 hour tour with Island Spirit! It was so fun and relaxing. They even let us jump off the jaws bridge which I did!

After our kayaking trip we headed into the town of Oak Bluff to shop around, visit the famous gingerbread houses and eat dinner!

This is the old carousel that is in Oak Bluff!
The Vineyard Vines perfection ;)

I couldn't pick just one house!

We then headed to dinner at Nancy's where we ate outside and I tried lobster for the first time! I love lobster but I don't know if I love picking it apart. I think I like lobster rolls better. Though the experience was so fun!

How cute is this lobster bib?
The perfect dinner view
After dinner we walked to the lighthouse in Oak Bluff to catch a breath taking sunset!

After heading back into Edgartown for some ice cream we got to see first hand the secret service and all the craziness revolving around this as Obama was eating at this restaurant!

Thursday:

We started the day off by shopping around Edgartown and of course we could not missed the second Vineyard Vines store on the island!

We then took a really nice walk to see the lighthouse in Edgartown! The houses were so perfect along the way.

We then headed to South Beach to relax and sit beach side for the afternoon!

After the beach we headed to Vineyard Heaven just in time to see the ferry leave the dock. We also checked out the Black Dog stores, Black Dog cafe and looked around the rest of the town!

We then had dinner at the Net Result which was SO good. I had a lobster roll that was amazing!

Sorry for the blurry picture
Before heading back to the Hostel we got ice cream in town and watched another beautiful sunset on the water!

Friday:

This was our last day in the Vineyard and we started the day by taking the bus up to the Gay Head Lighthouse which was so beautiful. I got some amazing pictures of the view!

My mom spotted a deer!

Our last stop on our vacation was Menemsha to check out all the fishing boats and markets! We grabbed an early dinner before having to fly home ;(

This is where we had a early dinner. The fisher was so nice and he even let me and my friend touch lobster to put back into the water!

Our flight back was so sad because I had such a good time and can't wait to visit the island again!

I hope you enjoyed this really long post with tons of pictures! I love this trip and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation to get away!
