Weekend Getaway: Niagara On The Lake

This past weekend we spent the night in Niagara On The Lake as a celebration for my sister's birthday that was last week! We had an amazing time and I wanted to recap the weekend. Being so close to Canada it was the perfect weekend mini trip. It was really cold but we still had lots of fun and ate way too much. I think going back in the fall or spring would be fun! It was my first time in Niagara On The Lake but I would for sure go back again.

Where We Stayed // We a huge Airbnb fans and we happened to find one right in town walking distance from all the shops. You could also see the Lake from the street. The location was perfect and the house was so cozy. We pretty much sat by the fireplace when we were home.

What We Ate // The food was AMAZING and I probably will be dreaming about the meal for weeks to come. We drove into town Saturday afternoon so we were only around for one dinner and one breakfast.
We ate dinner at Ravine Vineyard which has a winery store and restaurant right next to each other. The restaurant was fancy but not over the top (I still wore jeans). The food was so fresh and the service was top notch. We tried one of their Charcuterie boards which they are known for and I had the duck for dinner. The food and wine was both amazing!

After dinner we stopped at Willow Cakes for a sweet treat to take home. I had the flowerless chocolate cake which was very good!

For breakfast we ate at the Cannery inside the Pillar and Post hotel. The food was very good and the hotel was so pretty. They still had all the holiday decorations up which was so nice to see. We did not do the breakfast buffet as we just ordered off the regular menu but that also looked very good!

What We Did // Like I said we got to Niagara On The Lake Saturday afternoon so we first stopped at the Niagara Outlet Collection to get some shopping in. The outlet is not huge but it is a really nice mall with a few gems! They have a Lululemon and Sorel outlet where you can get some really good deals. With the exchange rate the discounts were even better on the day we went. I got a few things that I am really excited about including a Ralph Lauren flag sweater.

After shopping we headed into town and checked into our Airbnb. For there we walked into town and walked along the street and went into a few stores. It was nice to be able to do some window shopping as well. We didn't have a ton of extra time as we had to leave in the morning but it would have been cool to go to more wineries then just the one we went to for dinner.

After dinner we decided to check out the Wayne Greatzky outdoor skating rink. It was so cool they had a live DJ and an outdoor bar. We went into the stores and checked out the wine tasting room. We decided not to skate because it was just so cold but the whole place was really cool too see! After this we headed back to our Airbnb and called it a night. We had a fun filled day experiencing some of the town.
