Life Lately (August in Review)

I have a ton of fun blog post ideas coming up that I am excited about! Today I thought I would share some photos I haven't shared yet that are from the past month. I did something similar back in July and I thought it was a fun post to update you on my life and share some pictures. Krista also recently did a similar post that I enjoyed reading.

August started off very slow and quiet but it turned into a really great month with friends and I tried a few new restaurants. Even though I started off the month feeling a bit off I ended the month excited for the next few months and I am motivated to make the best of what the year has left even though this year has not been what I (or anyone) expected.

I tried a new restaurant for lunch with a friend out in Frisco. It is called Heirloom Hall and it is a small cafe and lunch spot in with a thrift store. The food was really good and the place was super cute inside. I had a glass of froze and salad/sandwich combo. They had GF bread which was a nice bonus. I also tried their chocolate covered strawberries which were just as good. This place was the perfect afternoon lunch spot!

My Barefoot Dreams cardigan I ordered from the Nordstrom anniversary sale came in and it is so soft! I am glad I finally pulled the trigger and got one of these cozy sweaters.

This trip was very unplanned but I am so glad I took the trip! Basically I got back from Hilton Head and my sister went back home so things were pretty quiet and I was definitely having post vacation depression.  At the end of August my mom & sister were planning to visit some family on their boat in Michigan. I really wanted to go so I decided to check flight prices and they were so cheap! I could fly round trip direct for $160 and the times were perfect. So after checking with my dog sitter and making sure everything was a go I decided to do it. Obviously flying is not for everyone right now but I had been to SC a few weeks earlier and knew what to except. I wore a mask for the entire flight and felt ok flying especially because the vacation was pretty much all outside. We spent the whole weekend on the boat and had the best time!   The weather was perfect and I am SO glad I made the trip for a last summer hurrah.

I think Cooper was as board as I was at the beginning of the month and he loves car rides. So naturally he went on a few adventures!

These days I will take any excuse to get dressed up because I am in gym clothes all week working from home. I tried a new Mexican restaurant with my friend last weekend and I wore this new dress I found at a boutique in SC!
